Olympus Power Supports Jordan Davies’ Marathon des Sables Challenge for HHVUK
Across the UK, thousands of veterans face homelessness, mental health challenges, and the struggle to rebuild life after service.
One charity working relentlessly to change that is Helping Homeless Veterans UK (HHVUK), a volunteer-powered organisation dedicated to ensuring no veteran is without a safe place to call home.
Olympus Power is proud to support Greenvolt Next’s Project Manager, Jordan Davies, who is taking on what is widely regarded as one of the toughest races on earth: the Marathon des Sables covering 250km across the Sahara Desert, raising vital funds and awareness for HHVUK.
A Charity Built on Service
Founded in 2019 as a CIC and gaining full charity status in 2021 HHVUK was operates on a simple, powerful belief:
“Those who served our country should never be forgotten or left behind.”
The charity is entirely volunteer run, where every penny donated goes directly to supporting veterans in crisis. Their team includes 15 volunteers and 8 trustees who give their time to fight homelessness on the front line.
Their impact has been remarkable:
- 732 veterans helped since 2019
- 460+ formally housed in partnership with local authorities
- A 100% sustained housing rate for every veteran directly placed
- 60+ fundraising events organised annually
Rebuilding Lives Through Housing
While many organisations rely on temporary accommodation, HHVUK focuses on creating long-term homes. Rather than paying hotel chains, HHVUK has committed to developing and managing its own properties, making it the only UK charity doing so at this scale.
These projects include The Talbot Mews in Bournemouth with six self-contained flatlets, Guinigault House in Port Talbot with four en-suite rooms and shared facilities, and a former nightclub in Llanelli being converted into a 16 flat property with specialist rooms to support disabilities.
Jordan’s Challenge: 250km Across the Sahara
Jordan Davies is not only a Greenvolt colleague, but he is also a former Sniper Section Commander who served in Kosovo and completed two tours in Iraq. Having faced the realities many veterans experience after leaving service, Jordan joined HHVUK as a trustee to help others navigate housing systems, welfare processes, and crisis recovery.
After completing Ironman Wales last year to raise funds and awareness, Jordan is now taking HHVUK’s mission to a global stage. In April 2026, he will run the 40th anniversary of the Marathon des Sables: a 250km ultramarathon across the Sahara over six days and carrying all his kit, in extreme desert conditions. Jordan says:
“These are the lengths we’re willing to go to get this charity the recognition it deserves.
Seeing where every penny goes is what puts HHVUK ahead of the others when supporting veterans with accommodation needs.”
Olympus Power’s £5,000 sponsorship will go directly toward helping veterans in crisis.
