The Olympus Power team are celebrating after being one of three UK businesses to be shortlisted for Commercial Solar Project of the Year by Solar and Storage Live.

Hosted by Krishnan Guru-Murthy, the award ceremony takes place in Birmingham on 17th October, as part of the three-day Solar and Storage Live conference. Olympus Power have been selected for their roll out project of 11 solar installations for the Cambria Automobile Group.

Olympus Power believe the project has been shortlisted for the efficient installation, excellent communication with each site and their commercial forecasting. All of the 11 sites will save more than the cost of the system in less than 4 years. For this project, Olympus Power forecast that 85% of the energy generated from the solar systems will be used at the sites.

Post installation, the team at Olympus Power monitor systems to provide performance reports and operational insights to Cambria on a site by site basis. This data assists with intelligent, long-term strategic business planning. Olympus Power consider long-term partnership with clients an essential part of the services they provide. As well as reviewing energy usage and designing and installing solutions, they provide expertise and support in navigating the advances in technology and evaluating options for clients’ best interests.

Olympus Power was chosen for this project due to its expertise and reputation in the renewable energy industry. Cambria’s Group Property Director, Jason Button said “Solar for us – I can’t stress enough how much it has really changed our outlook on energy usage. It’s kind of a no-brainer. A case of ‘why wouldn’t you do it?’,rather than why would you.”

With a mission to save one million tonnes of carbon by 2025 through partnership with forward thinking companies, Olympus Power believe that Cambria is the first multi-site auto dealership to be proactively driving down fossil fuel energy usage in this way. Olympus Power would like more commercial chains in the UK to take up alternative energy systems to save CO2, and this example is a flagship for ambitious organisations across the country.
