The Voltage Optimisation (VO) units ensure that the businesses do not use electricity they don’t need – reducing costs and overall energy use.
Matt Farrand, Account Manager at Olympus Power, explained how the units work. “What the unit does is regulate the voltage coming into the building. Electricity coming from the national grid fluctuates – meaning that usually you take, and pay for – more electricity than you need.
With a Voltage Optimisation unit fitted, you only pay for the electricity you need. This can reduce energy bills by up to 15%, amounting to huge savings for high usage venues with accommodation and food preparation.”
The units, which are about the size of a washing machine, are fitted in a day and results can be seen right away. Voltage Optimisation units can be combined with renewable energy systems, such as solar panels or heat pumps to provide a complete solution for each business, depending on the energy needed and resources of the site.
