Olympus Power Returns to Cold Chain Live 2026

Climate Impact News / 1st Oct 2026

Olympus Power is returning to Cold Chain Live this October, bringing its Energy Concierge approach to one of the UK’s leading events for temperature-controlled storage and distribution.

Following the successful launch of our Renewable Energy Guide for Cold Storage & Distribution at Cold Chain Live last year, the Olympus Power team will return to the Telford International Centre on 13th – 14th October 2026.

As proud members of the Cold Chain Federation, we work with businesses across cold storage, food manufacturing, warehousing and temperature-controlled distribution to help them develop more resilient, cost-effective and sustainable energy strategies.

Visitors can meet the Olympus Power team throughout the event at Stand 39.

Energy Remains a Major Challenge for Cold Chain Businesses

Cold storage and temperature-controlled operations are inherently energy intensive.

Refrigeration, lighting, heating, ventilation, material handling and increasingly electrified fleets can create significant and often unavoidable energy demand. Unlike many commercial environments, critical systems also need to operate reliably around the clock.

This makes energy more than a sustainability consideration.

It is an operational and commercial one.

Volatile energy costs, pressure on grid capacity and growing electrification mean businesses increasingly need to consider not only where their energy comes from, but how it is generated, stored, managed and consumed across their sites.

For many organisations, the answer will not be a single technology.

Building a Smarter Energy Strategy

Olympus Power works as an Energy Concierge, helping businesses understand their energy requirements before identifying the technologies and commercial options best suited to their sites.

Depending on the organisation, this can include Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Voltage Optimisation, EV charging, energy procurement, monitoring and ongoing energy management.

Solar PV, for example, can allow suitable cold storage and distribution sites to generate electricity directly from otherwise unused roof or land space.

Battery storage can provide another layer of flexibility, allowing energy to be stored and used strategically depending on site demand and the wider energy strategy.

Voltage Optimisation can help suitable sites address unnecessary overvoltage, while improved monitoring can give businesses greater visibility over where and when energy is being consumed.

The objective is not simply to install renewable technology. It is to build an energy strategy around the operational requirements, infrastructure and long-term objectives of the individual business.

At Cold Chain Live 2025, we launched our dedicated Renewable Energy Guide for Cold Storage & Distribution, created to help businesses understand the opportunities available to reduce energy costs, improve resilience and support their sustainability objectives.

The guide explores the energy challenges facing the sector and the technologies businesses can consider as part of a wider energy strategy.
